Violinist DIMITRINKA TUTURILOVA has performed in Bulgaria, Austria, Germany, Greece, Switzerland, Japan and the USA in some of the most important halls such as Carnegie Hall (New York), Kennedy Center (Washington D.C.) and Musikverein (Vienna). Among some of the orchestras she has performed with are: Tonkünstler Orchestra (Austria), Sofia Philharmonic and New Symphony Orchestra (Bulgaria), Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh, Spoleto Music Festival USA, West Virginia Symphony, Erie Philharmonic, Pittsburgh Academy Chamber Orchestra (Assistant Concertmaster and Principle Second violin), Ohio Valley Philharmonic (Assistant Concertmaster) and McKeesport Orchestra.
Miss Tuturilova was awarded full tuition scholarships from Carnegie Mellon University (Master of Music) and Duquesne University (Artist Diploma). She studied with Professor Cyrus Forough, and Christopher Wu, respectively. While attending Duquesne University she was a Teaching Assistant for Violin and Viola, as well as being the Assistant Concertmaster of the Duquesne Symphony Orchestra. She pursued her Bachelor’s Degree at the National Music Academy “P. Vladigerov” (Sofia, Bulgaria) studying with Prof. Evelina Arabadjieva.
Among the artists she has worked with are Rossen Milanov, Sidney Harth, Jeffrey Turner, Ronald Zolman, Emmanuel Villaume, Ilya Kaller, David Kim, Sarah Chang and Deborah Henson- Conant and Masterclasses with Prof. Axel Wilczok , Prof. Ilya Kaler, Prof. Andres Cardenes, Prof. Ifrah Neaman, Prof. Kevork Mardirossian, Kevin Lawrence, Maria Radicheva, Emil Kamilarov, and Dina Shnaidermain.
She is a prize- winner in International Competitions such as: “Young Music Talents” (Sofia, Bulgaria), Special Prize of the Strings Department (2002), “The Beach of Hope” (Albena, Bulgaria) 2nd prize and medal (1998). Honorary Diploma of the Sofia City and Republic of Bulgaria for the best performance on National and International Competitions, awarded by the Major of City Sofia (1999).
As a composer she is a prize- winner from the VIII World Harp Congress, Geneva, Switzerland; VI Academic Competition for Chamber Music (flute & piano, flute & harp) "Prof. N. Stefanov", Sofia/ Bulgaria, and the Special Prize for youngest composer, sponsored by the Union of Bulgarian Composers (1999).
As a soloist, she had performed with Chamber Orchestra "Sofia Soloist" with Maestro Plamen Djourov and Vidin Philharmonic with Maestro Narciso Sofia. Some of her solo performances have been recorded for Bulgarian National Television as well as some private channels.
